Teresa Drost Buzzini

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and am pleased to have joined the Courtyard Counseling Center staff. I truly enjoy working with individuals and families to help promote health and wellness, enhance performance, improve coping, or facilitate recovery from emotional or behavioral problems.

I have experience working with individuals with a broad range of concerns. I have specialized interest and experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. The United States Surgeon General has reported that an estimated 20% of children have mental disorders that affect daily life. Some of the most common presenting concerns include behavior problems, anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. I strive to offer timely and effective intervention and seek to assist parents in helping their children function in ways that most assures their development into healthy adults.

I strive to achieve a collaborative, growth promoting relationship with each of my clients, building on their strengths. The course of services is tailored to the unique set of circumstances and needs of the individuals and families I serve.

Presently in addition to my work with Courtyard Counseling Center, I serve on the staff of a local non-profit agency that provides Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services. I have previous experience in residential, college counseling, inpatient, and outpatient settings working within both traditional psychiatric and medical settings.

In addition to private pay clients, I accept several insurance plans, including GHP, UBH, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. When you call for an appointment, ask me about your specific insurance plan.

On a personal note: I am married (my husband is a physician specializing in adolescent medicine) and we have two wonderful elementary school age children.
